# How do I fix bed adhesion problems?

Wash the build plate with dish soap (IPA alone often leaves residue), set Z-offset so the first layer squashes evenly, slow the first layer, use the bed temperature from your filament's catalog row, and add glue stick for PETG, ABS, ASA, and nylon.

The ranked rows are examples of where the bed temperature comes from. They are not a ranking of the best filament.

## Clean the plate

Wash the build plate with dish soap and water. The recommendation treats IPA alone as something that often leaves residue. The comment we can point at says soap, water, and a fresh level fixed an Ender plate. The bank does not include a measured residue test.

## Z offset and first-layer speed

Set Z offset so the first layer squashes evenly, then slow that layer down. This cluster does not publish a Z distance or a first-layer speed. [Printer limits](/printer) are the maximum nozzle and bed, not a plate-cleaning manual.

## Bed temperature by material

[PLA Basic](/brand/bambu-lab/pla-basic) lists 35–45 °C (95–113 °F). [PETG HF](/brand/bambu-lab/petg-hf) lists 65–75 °C (149–167 °F). [Bambu ABS](/brand/bambu-lab/abs) and [Bambu ASA](/brand/bambu-lab/asa) each list 90–110 °C (194–230 °F). [Good PLA prints](/answers/pla_print) still starts with the plate and the Z offset. [PETG](/answers/petg_print) adds the smooth-PEI warning. [ABS](/answers/abs_print) is the warp and draft problem, which is a different failure from a PLA line that will not stick.

## Glue stick

Add glue stick for PETG, ABS, ASA, and nylon. On PETG it is also a release agent so the part does not weld to smooth PEI. On ABS and ASA it is the extra grip while the bed is at the row's range. Nylon's drying and enclosure notes are on the [nylon guide](/answers/nylon). Glue does not replace those.

## Textured and smooth PEI

A textured plate is the PETG alternative to glue on smooth PEI. A smooth plate that has stopped holding PLA is the soap-and-water case, then Z offset. The Bambu thread in this cluster is a textured PEI plate that stopped holding PLA. The same wash applies. The thread does not add a new bed range.

## What the community says

The editorial summary is to clean the plate with dish soap, set Z offset, slow the first layer, and use the correct bed temperature, with glue stick for PETG, ABS, and nylon. A comment on the Ender thread says soap, water, and a fresh level fixed a plate that had stopped sticking. The bank records no caveat string. Threads in the cluster include PLA first-layer trouble and an ABS warp photo. Those are kept apart below.
